What to expect:
Experience the largest botanical garden in South Africa with a certified nature guide. We will learn more about some of the many species of flowering plants that are growing there!
The garden is situated on the eastern foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town.
Your guide will walk you through the distinct sections of the Garden representing the various plant families such as Cycads, Aloes, Proteas and Erica's as well as important historical sites. You will learn more about the many fascinating plants that make up the incredible diversity of this biodiversity hot spot. As the garden stretches up the slopes of Table Mountain you will have a great view of the surrounding suburbs and the Atlantic Ocean.
One of the highlights is the Tree Canopy Walkway, referred to as 'Boomslang' (Tree snake) that gives you a unique perspective of the Afromontane Forest growing underneath and around it.
Our visit to the fragrance garden, with its aromatic medicinal plants, will be an all-sensory experience.
We will have a tea or coffee break at one of the Restaurants inside the garden.
You will learn more about one of the world's most botanical diverse place on Earth and its dominant vegetation called Fynbos!
